At Dallas Children's Medical Center there is a staff of clowns. There objective is noble - to distract patients and their families from their current trials with laughter. I witnessed them tactfully engage a variety of situations with great success. Following these instances they gather to discuss how things went and how they could do better. They are as serious as they are funny. It was a joy and honor to witness what they do.
